That's AWESOME! I'm procrastinating on picking up seven cull roosters from a woman down the street. I've been trying to find the time and the motivation to butcher and can them, but so far, I always manage to find something more pressing to do with my time...... Seeing all your...

Tufts? Did someone say tufts? By golly, we can show you tufts!!! Take a look at just about any page over on the Araucana thread ( https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=288425&p=54) and you'll see that tufts are usually hard to miss (usually) and quite different from...

Oh Anne, your killing me here! Wow, Wow, wow!!!!! What is it about that feather pattern that just makes all the crud in life fade away for a moment? So, what is the BBS parent combo on this lovely lady here?

Splash to black creates 100% blue, yes, but the feather depth of blue is average.
Blue to black is 50% of each, but the feather depth of blue can be dark. Here's an example Ameraucana from that parentage, who is so dark she's nearly black...

Yeah, the one you're giving to me right??? (Hint hint hint). I would give a lot for a boy like that. Where did he come from?
That "lemon blue" pair that you have. Sigh. Very NICE.
So, anyone going to the Great Falls Montana Poulrty show on October 2nd and 3rd?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In my book, anyone who is able to hatch chicks out of shipped Araucana eggs is, well, like, AWESOME! They look happy and healthy and simply adorable.
Illia, I posted picks a while back of my white "Splash Wheaten" boy. He looks JUST like yours. Jean said that the Ameraucana club is looking into a few other identical occurrences out of a few different breeders. I've heard that there is a thread about it over at the Ameraucana breeders club...

I lost a blue wheaten Ameraucana rooster (from pips and peeps) to a fox just as he was coming into his own. I think there is little in this world as glorious as the BW Ameraucana boys and wow, your roo is handsome . So sorry to hear about your missing hens; we went through a pretty...
Wendy'sChicksRock :
is it true that a good way to tell if you have a real Araucana is by the feet? Im not too sure what I have, I was told by my good friend who has had chickens her whole life (and she is 65) that my hen was the Araucana, she gave me one as a gift. Im new to this so dont bite my...

Oh, love the shape of her body - she is very sweet and feminine looking. Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!! Do you know the breeds of her parents? It looks a lot like a blue wheaten Ameraucana cross to me....
and I'm trying not to lust too badly after that incredible lawn of yours.
