Has anyone tried an implant to stop egg laying?

I know. It counterintuitive. But I do know that there is an implant that a vet can put into a bird to help reduce or stop laying entirely. I know it might be hard to fathom of why somebody would want to do some thing like this but my favorite little Serama hen, Pippa, is a tiny little thing...

Ended BYC's 2023 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along—Fall on the Farm Photo Contest

Thank you! Do you currently have some? I'd love to see photos of yours! These two are my life. They are the smartest most amazing dogs. What's crazy is that they seem to be more intuitive than humans at times. And as I'm sure you can attest, they understand a lot of what we say to each other...

Serama chicks and their weights at a month old

They are precious! So when you think of exchequer leghorns, ideally, that would be the 60/40 white/ black distribution of colors. And all feathers would be white or black. Not both colors on the same feather. But the breed is a baby breed, so to speak. we are so new. So we are still perfecting...

Serama chicks and their weights at a month old

Serama tolerate confinement very well. They're plenty fine in a 32 gallon for now. I have up to three chicks in a ten gallon until three weeks old. Then they move to a 30 gallon. Then into a Guinea pig cage. So they're just fine where they're at for now. Looks like you take them out often...

    Serama rooster considered Blue?

He's not blue. He's blue with leakage. Blue had its qualifying meet to be added to ABA accepted colors for in cage showing and is up for acceptable. Blue males look almost black. They're pretty dark at first glance. Blue color correct females have lacing and are lighter blue in general compared...

    Silked Serama??

Here's how it happens (my silkied won grand champion female and reserve champion male at SCNA nationals on 1/14/23 and grand champion female at the same national show in 2022): One of your birds had to carry the recessive silkied gene to start with (written Aa). So if you cross that on a smooth...
