Does it have a orangish tip to the end of its beak? If so it is more than likely a Wood Duck. If it is in order to get it to eat it will more than likely need some live small meal worms. You can get them at a pet store. I am not sure where you are located. Where was it found. If it is a...
I like number 1 myself. My Husband is a carpenter and built our house, we have all Cherry trim upstairs and Walnut downstairs, no paint on any of it, just a beautiful finish to show the wood's beauty. That is probably why I like number 1 the best. That's really a neat looking house you...
You are most welcome as so many people think they cannot fly and wondered why I had to pinion mine as ducklings. I hope yours stay put. I have sold my Mallard ducklings before and when they were about 5 weeks old and some of the people that bought them had them fly off. I bought my two I got...
I agree, the person I got my Indian Runners from as ducklings told me his whole flock of them could fly and fly well. That is what led me to pinion them as soon as I brought them home. That way I don't have to clip them or worry about them flying over the fenced in yard where I let them graze...
Lucky you. I am glad that you got so many Hens the first time around. My buck a duck was no big deal since I hopefully have a home for them and it was fun watching them get so big already.
Did you end up with two Hens and the rest Drakes? That's what I thought they looked like by the pictures that I saw. Hopefully you got more hens but the first ones looked like Drakes and the last two looked like Hens to me.
It just makes me wonder if that is how these hatcheries get rid of their drakes. My friend got 6 drakes and 2 hens and this is the first time I have ever bought from TSC and I got 2 drakes. I have always managed to get a hen and a drake from our Rural King. I should have known better but...
Amen to that. My Son served along with my Father, Father in law, brother and ex husband. It is the ones that served that have given me the Freedom I have today and I always thank a Veteran or Service man or woman for their Service whenever I can recognize them. Sometimes they will have a...
You have a wonderful day also Mark, it was good hearing from you. I hope your ducklings are all doing well. My Rouen ducks that I got for a buck a duck are in with the others now and of course both are males. I have a friend that says she will take my three drakes in July when she moves...
I did not get any of the vaccines myself. I had covid when it first started and then got it again at Christmas time this past year then again at Easter just a few months ago. I did well with it all three times but I know myself that my lungs are not as good as they used to be. I am in the...
My first time Muscovy Momma duck is sitting on 7 eggs but only two looked promising. She is past due herself by my thoughts but I will let her sit until later on next week as these babies can be unpredictable. lol
Yes those look like mine do. I pray that all goes well with your hatch. They can usually get out on their own but if you see their little beaks in the air sac and no sign of hatching after a day or two, I would put the little hole in the air sac.
Are the movements you are seeing in the air sac where they have internally pipped? If so then after a day or so you can put a tiny hole with the end of a screw in that air sac so they can breathe.
