Texas can be brutal with heat. Hitting 97° today here. I have 3 solar powered fans coming in today for my coop. It is meant for a 245 square foot area, so it will hopefully have no problem with cooling them down. Texas gets plenty of sun, so solar powered fans should be good!

Could be it has thin skin and being wet from hatching made its skin transluscent and then drying off made it's skin look normal.

I still find it crazy how long that chick's beak is! I am happy the chick is getting better and hopefully it will be walking like normal in no time!

I have fence secured to the ground outside of the run along the perimeter. I personally used dog fencing as that ground protection because it is strong, durable, and the chickens aren't coming in contact with it so they can't get hurt by it. That is what I would suggest.
