Hello there! "All good" is good to hear! ;)
Rescue chickens? That's wonderful that you are giving them a better home. So interesting to hear about molting this time of year... especially as we go through a heat wave in the SF Bay Area! Keep us posted on their progress and feel free to share any...
I'm glad to see you checking in. Sorry to hear about the loss of one of your Wyandottes.
Are you using the eglu auto-door or a different one? Let us know what you think about it. The auto-doors were a game-changer for us (and our hens).
Not sure about the dome-shaped netting... hopefully...
One of my biggest gripes/questions about these things is that they rarely give "relative impact" studies.
For example, I know it's "bad" to be exposed to x-rays, but what's the level of exposure during a Dr. visit vs. a transatlantic flight?
I know being in the same room as a 3D printer might...
Hey @ronott1 I've been learning more and more about microplastics and nanoplastics... specifically bisphenols and phthalates that are in our food and adding-up in our systems over time.
I'm not usually one to get super concerned about stuff like this, but it's all got me thinking... I mean, we...

Howdy! Housesitting, and specifically hensitting sounds like a fun way to keep involved with backyard chickens. Is this something you do for fun or as a job/business?
Welcome back! Sorry for your loss. I can definitely understand that caring for all that land and chickens etc. would be hard... and the need to simplify things.
If you do end up starting a new flock, please let us know.
Hello and welcome back! Sorry to hear about your fox attack. That is such a sad thing to go through. :(
I hope that you get the opportunity to have chickens again some day. Feel free to stop by with any updates you have in the future.
So glad you came to check-in!
Sorry to hear of your divorce... looks like my divorce was around the same time. Glad to hear you kept your flock, remarried, and all is well... even with the mink attack. Those are a predator I'm glad I don't have to deal with!!!
Glad you gave your brother the...
Thanks for stopping by and sharing those great pics! It sounds like quite the adventure with your feathered friends! Sorry to hear about the disappearance of your previous flock... that's heart-breaking.
Ya, that might be a tricky spot for a flock, but maybe a few hens would be ok. Keep us...
Wow... 60?!?! That's a fantastically huge flock!
Yup, sounds like a busy and bustling farm! I love the idea of rotational grazing. I've been wanting to setup a chicken tractor to move my small flock around for weed abatement. How are your chickens and other animals getting along?
Aww, thanks for the nice comments on our wonderful community! It's great to hear that you're getting back into the swing of things and adding more chicks to your flock! Wishing you all the best as you continue to nurture your "farmette"! :D
Hey there! It's great to see you back, and thanks for sharing the pics!
Ya, sounds like you have your hands full with homesteading, work, and family! Feel free to share more about your adventures anytime!
Classroom chicks is how this site started!!!
I hope the little one with the leg issue gets the help it needs. Keep us posted with info and pics of your large flock of 25 chickens!
Thanks for reporting this. There should not be any full screen video ads, especially for logged-in members.
We haven't had any other reports of this. Sometimes this can be a result of non-BYC related stuff specific to your computer (like addons, etc.), so if you (or anybody else) see it again...
