I've been photographing wildlife for several years and I really enjoy it. I like being out in nature, but I rarely take time to photograph it, without the animals, lol. I'm looking to broaden my horizon as a photographer, so I'm going to try and take more nature pics. I bet there are many people...
I haven't been much lately but I really enjoy taking wildlife pics. I searched on here and didn't find a thread dedicated to it so I figured I would start one.
Anybody out there who likes taking pics of wildlife? Feel free to share them here.
I posted this in the quail section but figure I would post here too. I kept quail for about 2 years without issue but then the coons figured out how to reach through wire floors and kill my birds.
So I added aluminum flashing to the legs of my pen and I'm hoping that will be enough to keep them...
I built this cage a couple years ago and never did a thread on it. It is 6ft wide x 10ft long x 4ft tall. It has a center divider and one divider on each side. This creates four 3ft x 5ft compartments. All of the dividers are removable so I can easily change the sizes based on my needs. I plan...
Planning on raising a few bobwhites again this year. My local source is no longer in business. Any reputable people selling bobwhite eggs online? Is there a specific time to order when the eggs are more viable? I see a couple people sell year round but it seems like most sell during spring and...
I have Italian Coturnix and Jumbo Pharaoh quail for sale. The Italians are from Myshire Farm and all the Jumbo Pharaoh quail are from the James Marie Farm bloodline.
I have a bunch of 4 week old Jumbos for $3 a piece. These eggs were purchased directly from JMF and Orchard Hill Poultry. The...
I talked to Robbie from JMF a while back before I got my birds and he gave me more info than I could handle over the phone and alot of it went right over my head...
I want to establish a simple breeding program for jumbo pharaoh quail. I want to keep the size up and continually hatch healthy...
I just built 3 brooders a couple months ago and I have brooded over 200 quail in them so far. They have worked great...
Here's what I used:
HDX 55 gallon storage tote $25
Two light bulb sockets $2 each
Extension cord $4
Push button rotary dimmer switch $10
Two 150w light bulbs $5 each...
So I hear it all the time. "Shipped eggs have bad hatch rates"....
I know a guy who incubates pretty regularly and he has never bought shipped eggs and reccomends against it. You find mixed results when searching this website. It seems most people here tend to agree that hatching shipped eggs...
Well I started on this one a few days ago. It is very similar to version 1.0 but has some improvements built in. This one is 5ft x 2ft x 18 inches tall. The floor sits 3 and a half feet off the ground to help protect them from predators. It has an egg trough and a metal roof. After a trip to...
Just wanted to share my experience with ordering eggs off of the internet from Myshire Quality Quail Farm. I originally saw their videos on youtube and then found their website. It seemed like a well kept, family run quail farm from the videos.
You find mixed reviews when it comes to ordering...
I posted this in the quail forum but it would work great for chicks as well....

Okay let's call this a minimal waste feeder that can be converted into a zero waste feeder very easily.
I purchased a little giant 1 quart feeder from tractor supply. After a short period of use I found two problems with it. It didn't hold enough food and they spilled half of it on the ground...
I decided to build this cage specifically for breeders. I wanted it to require as little "maintenance" as possible. It needed to hold a lot of feed, have an unlimited water supply, and have a large roll out egg catcher. My goal was to design a cage that "could" be left unattended for up to one...
I got into quail a few years ago and did a bunch of research on youtube before I built my first cage. I have since built a much larger cage and I learned from my first one and did things a little different in it. I'm going to show ya'll my first cage then I'll tell you a few things I wish I had...
