Not very hard at all... I applied a Safer Stripper (CitriStrip) first which worked really well. It’s messy stuff but very effective. Then I used Sharpie oil based paint markers for the design layer. It was a pretty fun/gratifying project.

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 And totally huge feet on the JGs... male and female... but the rooster was noticeably bigger. I agree that posting pictures on the “what is this gender” thread (can’t remember the official name) will help... there are gurus who are quite excellent at identifying...

I shouldn’t say not a peep.. not a loud peep... they chortle and “burrwup wup wup” like normal chickens... I do have to go looking for them when they free range as they’re so quiet ha ha.

Hello! My JG pullets are WONDERFUL! Healthy, lovely birds. I had one rooster in the mix... that I had to give away as he grew so huge and sexually matured earlier than the pullets. He was doing physical (leg injuries from being squished) and emotional harm to the girls... from a human standpoint...

Alright... for the sake of science let’s take a look... first to reference how big it is: It split right along the line So the membranes were conjoined... the larger side was complete... the smaller side’s membrane contained only a yolk. Just WOW. Poor girl... this was a biggie.

So my Jersey Giant girls are 5 1/2 months old and working out the egg-laying kinks... but WOW. Should I be concerned? How is this egg explained oh, experienced chicken gurus? It’s two eggs in one ( I have yet to break it open. ) Thank you, chicken sages.
