Here is an egg I found last year… I think an alien chicken layed it ☺️

I’ve also considered getting a white JG roo as they’re slightly smaller and wouldn’t be as intimidating to the girls. Not sure what the chick outcome would be with this mix?
I can attest to this. I have 9 BJG hens and they’re adorable. Very calm. When I let them out to free range (watching them chase grasshoppers 😂) I often have to check on them to see where they are as they’re so quiet.
We had a rooster (that was a chick with them) that we had to rehome.. as he...
Hello! Thank you. Okay… so we went a bit overboard with materials… it was probably around $2,500…. We used mostly green treated lumber which may not be completely necessary… 1/2” plywood on the sides and 3/4” plywood on the roof under metal roofing. Also - we built this in early 2020 before...
Not very hard at all... I applied a Safer Stripper (CitriStrip) first which worked really well. It’s messy stuff but very effective.
Then I used Sharpie oil based paint markers for the design layer. It was a pretty fun/gratifying project.
Hi all... this is a reverse painting (painting on the back of glass) that I did for my coop.
I started by scrapping off the mirror backing and drew the design using enamel markers. I added a bit of latex paint color for pop... then painted white over the image for the final layer... she’s a...
Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 And totally huge feet on the JGs... male and female... but the rooster was noticeably bigger. I agree that posting pictures on the “what is this gender” thread (can’t remember the official name) will help... there are gurus who are quite excellent at identifying...
I shouldn’t say not a peep.. not a loud peep... they chortle and “burrwup wup wup” like normal chickens... I do have to go looking for them when they free range as they’re so quiet ha ha.
Hello! My JG pullets are WONDERFUL! Healthy, lovely birds. I had one rooster in the mix... that I had to give away as he grew so huge and sexually matured earlier than the pullets. He was doing physical (leg injuries from being squished) and emotional harm to the girls... from a human standpoint...
Fun question! I waited until their personalities became more evident... so our names are all over the place:
ZuZu
Petal
Raven
AOC (Alexandria Ochasio Chicken)
Dot Dot Dot
Odd Velvet
Jeez Louise
Thistle
and Olive
Alright... for the sake of science let’s take a look... first to reference how big it is:
It split right along the line
So the membranes were conjoined... the larger side was complete... the smaller side’s membrane contained only a yolk.
Just WOW. Poor girl... this was a biggie.
So my Jersey Giant girls are 5 1/2 months old and working out the egg-laying kinks... but WOW. Should I be concerned? How is this egg explained oh, experienced chicken gurus? It’s two eggs in one ( I have yet to break it open. )
Thank you, chicken sages.
Hello... I currently have a pullet doing this... eggs found in poop outside- but near the coop. Did yours ever correct this or was it always her thing?’ Thanks for your insight 1 1/2 years later😬
