Silkie x Faverolle Large Fowl Project

Also what color were the silkies you used for this project? So does it look like if the chicks inherit the SF coloring that they did auto sex? That what it sounded like to me with what you wrote at least. I wonder if you only move forward with those males and females (Wheaton's) and either bred...

Silkie x Faverolle Large Fowl Project

I like the white one 🥰 but if you cross those chicks with each other or back to a silkie parent then your F2 generation will have the silkie feathering again. Not sure if that's what you were going for though

That's what the problem was. Lol. I never saw this picture. Okay. Now I understand. I saw two other pictures not this one.

Please help! Hen suddenly falling asleep while standing, droopy tail! [Edit: Probable Worm Blockage]

Yeah, even went back and zoomed again. I see normal poops. Maybe some heat stress? Or watery from lots of liquids. I don't see Worms. Which is why I'm asking. What is that tells you worms?

leave broody hen sitting on eggs with rooster

I have left hens in with my flock while sitting and the chicks have been fine. Actually more easily accepted BUT I also have an exceptionally friendly flock and don't have any really nasty or aggressive birds. I think this kind of thing has to be done on a case by case basis, that the birds...

What color is this? And how do I repeat it on a satin silkie?

I have two unknown mix breed hens (from BYM hatching eggs I purchased from ebay) that both turned out like this. Only one is photographed here. But I think this type of pattern would look very pretty on a satin silkie. Can anyone tell me about the genetics involved here? And maybe how I would be...

Silkie x Faverolle Large Fowl Project

Curious if these chicks actually ended up being one male one female? Since Faverolles are an auto sexing breed?

Crested Cream Legbars • Welsummer • Speckled Olive Eggers? Help with Sexing

Updating with photos of the chicks I've hatched this far. I think the chicks photographed together one gold/brown one grey with white spot are what true CCL m/F are supposed to look like? The others I'm assuming are actually my speckled olive eggers (welsummer rooster x CCL hen) and are...

Incubating Surprise - Anyone have chocolate Easter Eggers? What's going on here? chocolate? From White? And a genetics question....🧐

And Updating with photos of the rooster who fathered the chicks (lighter rooster in several photos), and the rooster who fathered the hens who I hatched from (maternal grandfather- the darker rooster(gold neck and grey beard floppy comb) in one photo)

Incubating Surprise - Anyone have chocolate Easter Eggers? What's going on here? chocolate? From White? And a genetics question....🧐

So I have been hatching out Easter Eggers from two hens and a rooster. I know the hens are from a cross between a white leghorn and an Americana rooster. The rooster I am unsure of his parents. So most of the chicks of been exactly what I expected - yellow down- and feathering in white. I've had...

Was supposed to be a CCL- Now not so sure?

I was thinking welsummer actually. I have grew out several variations of EE's and that pattern doesn't look right for those either. At least not the ones I've hatched out here

Crested Cream Legbars • Welsummer • Speckled Olive Eggers? Help with Sexing

Okay so from what I understand C.Cream legbars and Welsummer chicks are auto sexing breeds at hatch. Can someone post photos of what M/F look like for both at hatch please? Second- I also understand that if you cross a Welsummer Rooster to a CCL hen that the resulting chicks will be sex...

Any one seen this Breed of Bantam before? Possibly a cross? Feathered legs?

I'm going to take better pictures tomorrow but I think the body types are wrong for any old English Game Bantams. I've had them and they didn't look like this nor were they this wide and definitely didn't have feathered feet
