broody silkie keeps on sitting NEXT to eggs

chickens can be so smart at times and then go and freak out and act like the world is ending because they forgot how to go around an open door to get inside.

broody silkie keeps on sitting NEXT to eggs

My guess is that it is a combination of two things- 1. It is her first time going broody and may need a bit to figure out how to actually sit on eggs 2. A lot of silkies seem to be lacking in the brain department.

    WARNING: Cackle Hatchery

The thing is that the way USPS runs, packages aren’t actually seen by a person 90% of the time. The processing machines scan the bar codes and make shipping updates available while sorting the packages. It can’t differentiate between a package of chick food and a package of live chicks.

    WARNING: Cackle Hatchery

And to me at least, neither cackle or USPS should be blamed. How do you think cackle is supposed to provide food and water? That is going to lead to dead chicks a lot faster than not providing them. Water splashes and gets the food wet. The wet food then molds and with high humidity from the...

    WARNING: Cackle Hatchery

This is not true. Reptiles are shipped nearly exclusively through fedex. And this doesn’t apply to anything. My dad has toured multiple FedEx facilities for business reasons and has told me how there were chicks running all over the place during one of them.

    Lemon pyle brahma

No problem. Just remember that because Brahmas are slow to mature, I would wait until 10 weeks to make the final call. But with how little comb comb development there is, I wouldn’t be worried about it

PLEASE TRY THIS FEED!! My 11 hens have laid over 100 eggs so far this year. Poll: what brand of feed do you get?

I have been trying out new feeds and am currently feeding NatureWise 20% all flock. They don’t seem to be massive fans of it but I have 80 pounds of it and they eat enough of it that it doesn’t justify returning it. I also did try Cluck & Co 20% all flock and my 6 seemed to absolutely love it...

Hi!, new to chikens looking for advice on coop style

It can be divided any way you want to as long as the chickens would have adequate space.

    Raising toad eggs

I would use airline tubing to syphon out the water. It is small enough to not allow them to get hurt or sucked in. It takes time but works. When refilling it, i would use the zoomed reptile water conditioner as it is safe and I use it a lot with no issues. Make sure to refill it slowly and that...

    Raising toad eggs

If only my female toad would have cooperated this year and gave me some of those 🙄. My male was all for it but of course she was more interested in eating her reflection. Also, I would pick up some goldfish flakes as well as it contains some protein helping them develop good. Feed that every...
