Over the next two weeks we'll see temps that start in the teens and go into the hundreds. It's challenging as you need AC to sleep and wake up freezing. So we switch between heat and cool pretty frequently. On really cold days we start a fire to augment the heat pump. I lost a bunch of birds...
Got an asparagus question... My bed is in its 3rd year and I've been getting a few shoots each day from 5/8" in diameter down to a little bigger than a standard pencil. Today I have two shoots way smaller in diameter than a pencil. Should I let them grow and flower out or cut them back?
Yes it is. But on the good news front, fruit set before we got our frost. I've got crab apples, pears and peaches growing now. Hopefully the deer and the squirrels will let me have some.
If you can find them free or cheap, food grade 55 gallon drums cut in half make great containers, so do 5 gallon buckets. Both will need lots of holes drilled in for airflow and drainage. I continue to increase my container count. Hoping to grow enough tomatoes this year to can up a bunch...
I don't know but sent them an email asking for support. They were very specific X water to start Y water to finish. X was fine, Y didn't work. We're at YX4 and still not looking right.
