Respectfully.. Australia had alot of land when rabbits were introduced. Rabbits can't be trusted to go feral. Just wanted to make sure you know how fast they dig. I only had that experience because I had to leave a doe in a room of the barn while rearranging cages.
I've seen a rabbit dig a ten foot hole, nearly a foot diameter, in 2 or 3 hours. I don't trust rabbits on the ground. We have too much wild rabbits here as well that pass on diseases. And ticks.
I would say absolutely no to flemish giants for meat rabbits. I had two and they were out-eating my dairy goats. Absolutely not exaggerated. I had two goats I was milking at the same time and the flemish were acting starved and I upped their pellets all the way to a full scoop each, same scoop...
Lots of things work well for soap if you aren't making it pretty for selling.
Pringles can, just peel off the cardboard tube.
Cartons- milk, cream, juice. Just cut off the top and wash. Peel off the carton. Cut to bars.

With your hatching a dozen at a time seems like it works well for you. I'm considering doing that, just with more than a dozen, but being north I don't know how well it will work here. Brooder...
Just caught up on this thread. Very interesting I will be following along as well. I have a bunch of pantry emptiers at the moment, until I butcher most of the meaties and figure out male or female on the rest.
I'll be breeding for dual purpose and not caring much yet of the colors they end up...
