Hubby put a bat house on the side of our house. The bats didn't use it, but they did move into the space between that and the side of the house. He took it down, put it on the side of an oak tree. No bats.

Speaking of cameras... Husband was given an old Brownie camera. What a cool thing. He's wondering if he can cut down 4x5 sheet film to fit and actually use it, just for the experience.

Yes. It's there in your face. When your food comes from the store, you don't see it.

@U_Stormcrow, have you ever had Skordalia? I just learned of it today, and it sounds delicious. Lots and lots of garlic made me think of you.

Thanks, but...ummm... no. This was practically a contact shot. Less than 1" away. I used a .22 revolver. The first time, I was totally unprepared for the "death throes," and thought I'd missed the brain. The second rooster, I shot him and walked away until he was still. Just in case anyone...

When I had to catch two unruly roos, I used a fishing net on a 4' long pole. I shot them in the back of the head, point blank with a .22.

I have no experience with hatching, so no advice to give. Good luck!

Sorry to hear your conditions are so inhospitable. Nature is "the other kind of mother" sometimes.
