Here's another vote or good word for bielefelders. Butchered my bielefelder mixes Saturday at not quite 17 weeks. Not competing with Big Fatty though.
Live weights: 5.2, 5.2, 5.4, 5.4, 5.6.
Processed weights: 3.3, 3.6, 3.8, 3.8, 4. Plus 1 lb of giblets and 1lb of chicken feet...
Successfully weighed all 14 of my chickens tonight!
Still pretty impressed with the Bielefelder x RIR cockerels. 11.5 weeks old and they weigh 3.2 lbs, 3.4lbs, and 3.8 lbs. (51.2-60.8 ounces). The largest especially seems to be growing well. Pullet is 3lbs. Thoughts on their weights? I don't...
I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've done the math and I free feed. Also, my lot is half an acre, unfenced. They only free range when I'm working out there - anywhere from none to five hours a day. Probably averaging 1-2.

I'm honestly not too sure on the free ranging and predator awareness. They seem decent, but I'm relatively new to chickens. The sire is very predator aware to the point that some of the hens have gotten sick of running to hide when he sounds off yet again about a low flying airplane...
