Ranger, the araucana male I hatched from you, is huge. So vibrant too. I'll try to get pictures of him today.
Unfortunately he's kind of an idiot when he gets out of his pen. Completely panics and decides to go bother other males until he gets scooped back up
I'm thinking my araucana I got from you, Colt, is a pullet. I'll get a picture when I get back, but when I left, there was still no pink, and I think her color pattern is a female one.
Yeah, the second one popped out before it should have and made it longer than I expected, honestly. I think it just wasn't strong enough to bounce back completely. The rest were either various stages or near lockdown and didn't break into the airsac to finish their yolks. A lot of them had...
Even if my hatch turned out poorer than I'd wanted (cause who doesn't want 100% hatchrate 😅), I'm still happy with my little one I got. I wish the light one had ended ipnhatch just for curiosity sake, but the one I have seems to be doing great with Cheese and it's Cornish bantam siblings so far...
The size difference between the araucana and the Cornish bantams is getting more evident each day. I always find it funny with how big different breeds hatch
Hey Colt, do you have any araucana at all that are white? I know you said you weren't interested in seeing the eggtopsies I did, but I still wanted to see if something had gone wrong so i went ahead and did one. All the ones that were old enough to have down were black, except one. It looked...
As of yesterday night, both little araucana looked good with Cheese.
I might have happened to get a pure one from my own flock. It's got a peacomb, clean legs and I don't think I can feel a tailbone. It won't stay if it's a male, but depending on what these two are, it might if it's a female.
I candled last night. No one else is going to hatch. So let's hope I have a pair or two little girls. First one was doing great last I checked. Second hatched black and yellow, and had a rough hatch. Last I checked, it was cuddling with Cheese too.
2nd araucana hatched. He went to Cheese as well, but he had a rough hatch and has some things that hopefully don't make him fail. He hatched too early, and had heavy bleeding. It had stopped when I took him down, so hopefully he's clear on that. His eye are a bit wonky, hopefully just because...
Yeah, he did, I'm just laughing cause I wasn't expecting a chipmunk. I was thinking mostly black or possibly a black and yellow were the only options.
I really just need to get more sleep, so I actually understand things the first time around.
They both look good, I'm in a rush trying to get...
Well that's not black!
Ignore the one jn the egg, it's not part of this clutch and I'm pretty sure isn't going to end up making it either way
One in back is araucana and one in front is my Cornish. I completely forgot their down colors are probably going to look different enough to not have to...
