Same age? I’ve actually had several greys that just seem to grow slower (and I think they all were girls!) they are my smallest color variety overall. So there’s hope for the little bit.
Wish I could help. I did a little searching, but I don’t know if the fawn in runners comes from the buff gene or the chocolate gene. And I suppose they carry the runner gene, but I don’t know much about it either.
I did find a nice site with some good pics and descriptions...
Good grief that’s cold! We are supposed to plummet starting tomorrow. This evening will still be warm enough for me to refill every heated waterer I have, gives me a day or two without refilling, and prepare for a week of sub-freezing. I hate it!
After looking at their color choices, I figured I’d could find a baby pic of each.
White will of course be totally yellow as a baby, black will be solid black. If there is any yellow on the breast of a black duckling, the yellow will turn white and the duck will be black bibbed. Same for blue...
It would probably be easier for you to post pics of the ones you receive, then we can tell you what color they are. Plus we get the benefit of seeing your little cuties! :D
Tag me with pics, if you remember, please.
I’d think they would be fine.
Gorgeous color!
Sorry I haven’t read your whole thread. How’d she lose her toes? I have a serama that got her toes frostbitten last winter and she has a stump now. Still gets around just fine.
Unfortunately, I’ve always had a larger than preferred drake population. My luck, I suppose. Last summer’s hatches by my girls did produce a few more females than males, for a change, but I always seem to carry more males than I’d like. I have 39 total right now, and if I remember right, only 24...
If you’re ok with the price, I don’t see any red flags for not ordering some. Unless someone else notices something that I didn’t.
Speaking of lacing, I have this adorable little girl that just hatched last June. I’m not sure what her color is called, I know she has some chocolate genes, but...
Free shipping is a plus! I’m going to guess that the original breeder wasn’t huge on breeding show quality traits. The bodies are more slender and bills look a bit longer (especially the pic of the whites, as whites are more popular for shows and more selective breeders work hard to get “the...
Calls are the best! Don’t tell all my other birds, though they can probably tell that my calls get special treatment. :p
Hatchery birds are fine, if you don’t intend to do shows. Even hatchery or pet quality calls can produce show quality offspring. Price sounds a little high to me, but not...
