No worries! I don't mind updating the thread with more current info.
These are the six additional ducklings I had purchased (as day-olds). They are about 8-10 weeks old here (I think).
Here is a more recent photo of Maggie. Front and center, my Maggie-girl. She's so beautiful. I'm excited to...
It's been a while since I had posted this thread. Yes, my girl is a Magpie. Because of her I have since purchased 6 more Magpie ducklings. She's so adorable!
I love the photos you took of your magpies. They are too cute! Thank you for sharing <3
Update... Maggie appears to be a Muscovy duck! We aren't 100% sure yet but here is more information about her:
She doesn't get into the water and bathe or swim, though she occasionall steps into the large water bowl but immediately gets out. She doesn't have a "bean" at the tip of her bill. Her...
Oh wow look at this patterning coming through in the "runner" duck's feathers coming in! This appears to be a Khaki Campbell instead of a chocolate runner. Hahaha how neat!
I ordered 6 magpie ducklings through a local farm store that uses Privett hatchery. We just picked them up yesterday. They are so tiny! I bet the two ducklings I picked up from TSC were about a week old since these little babies are probably truly a day or two old. But yes they appear to be the...

From the photos I've seen online for the Ancona (versus Magpie or Moscovy)...
I see that it looks an awful lot like a magpie duckling (the "ancona" one) but Hoover's doesn't sell Magpies.
Also there is a resemblance to Muscovy. But I hear Muscovy are very different from all the other duck breeds. Does anyone have any ideas whether this one could be Muscovy? How do I tell?
Blue one? I don't have a blue one. Yeah the ones in the bin at TSC which I didn't take photos of looked very much like blue swedish. I didn't pick up one of those. I only picked up the brown one and the blotchy one. The others in the photos are baby chickens.
At TSC there were assorted ducklings. The ducklings appeared to be blue swedish, and maybe saxony or F&W runners today. I am NOT good with identifying ducklings (yet) so I stood there scrolling through several websites showcasing ducklings. I chose to buy what I think is an Ancona, and the is...
