I was guessing D... that one is just.... DARKER... than the other 3... and those feathers right above the tail look.... wispy.
Oddly enough, this morning... I was guessing TWO pullets. 'A' was my designated pullet yesterday.
I guess I have a few more weeks of staring at them. Lol.
Thank...
I really forget about the wattles! All of these are wattleless for the most part. I will continue to stare at them for the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your help.
Oh good grief. Lol.
What are the criteria you are looking for at this age??
When I look for differences... and this is purely based on nothing that resembles knowledge.... it is the triangle of feathers that is coming in on the rear in front of the tail.
I am back. My 4 remaining chicks are now 10+ weeks along. Next Wed 6/5 they will be 11 weeks.
I am thinking I have one female but i also know that i really stink at guessing.
I have individual and group shots (these are mainly of them side by side eating). Since I will get more bang for...
Exhibit D.... are just a bunch of shots of the 'small pale combs' that I had lumped together. Didn't bother adding the pics of the tail feathers as it doesn't seem like it matters now.
Thank you so much. I will stick with my 'small, pale comb' method to separate out for now. There are 6 total i need to be looking at. And it is mish mosh of insanity. Lol.
Those little combs and the feathers together have been what is throwing me off. All the small combs are pale. The large combs are turning pinkish. The feathers are a mystery.
Looks like a female to me? Maybe I'm right? Lol.
Ps... and Thank You for sharing your pics. I stressed mine out so will try pics in the am with an extra person to help.
I am wondering if anyone has a minute to show me pics of their Rhode Island Red chicks that are maybe 6 weeks old.
I hatched some eggs from a friend. I sorted out the mixes.... and now I am left with 7 and I have no idea what I'm looking at here.
I've got big combs and little combs. I've...
