I raised around 30 chicks then needed up selling off the parents and chicks last fall. Neat birds but moving to a 46 acre farm and going all layers. Plus I am adding more bee hives. This heatnis tough...been 100-103 the last few days....tough on a nursery and landscaper guy!!!
They are hens...my roo chicks show the spiked comb early as it sits high in front
Mine lay 4-6 eggs a week but I incubate all. About 70 from 2 weeks to three months all off three hens plus incubation problems...me not the birds ..OE I would have way more!
We were snow less all last winter so we will probably get hit this winter ....though 2 inches is average, gone in 2 days!
But....I work with our local pro minor league hockey team doing the on ice promotions so I get lots of ice time!
Seeing movement in the two slated for Monday.... the next week has 6....plus 5-7 day staggered hatches with around a dozen in incubation..... 5 in staging with 1-3 per day being laid.
.so hope to have lots to feed out!!!!
