    Araucana thread anyone?

I can’t say often because this is my first season with Araucana laying. Out of five pullets, three have gone broody within a month of starting to lay. :hmm I didn’t expect it.

    Araucana thread anyone?

Two more Araucana pullets that just started to lay have gone broody. At this rate it will be a while before I can gather eggs to sell. Here are photos of the white ones. Two clean-faced pullets in the whole hatch. So many cockerels again this year. :he

I have photos on my site I think. I can send photos. They are all pullets that started laying in the past month or two. I’ll send you some eggs. I’ve been on eBay and no one cares how far they travel and I haven’t gotten any news of poor hatches.

    Araucana thread anyone?

The good news is I found a double-tufted, rumpless recessive white chick with my three week old Silverudd’s Blues. There is no bad news unless you consider, I couldn’t tell him/her apart at hatching.

She hatched a chick ❤️ I saw the cracked egg this afternoon and thought a snake had gotten to the nest but this evening I saw the little yellow peep running around his or her mother.

    Araucana thread anyone?

Blue girl that just started laying in February has gone broody. Her Roo is quite fierce and she looks like she could be too. Their first hatch yielded two double tufted chicks: a black and a blue. Hope they can keep the snakes away.

    Araucana thread anyone?

... and my dt blue Araucana started to lay. Here is a comparison photo. Her egg is darker and greener than my cf black Araucana. The egg in the center is the blue pullet’s egg the others belong to the black Pullet that started to lay last week. I’m disappointed so far. My CL lay much nicer...

    Araucana thread anyone?

One of my pullets started to lay. The eggs are a pastel blue green with some tending toward one or the other. I’ll be test hatching quite a bit if anyone is in Florida (NPIP and can ship also) and would like to purchase the chicks I’ll be hatching as I try to sort out what to focus on. She is...

    Araucana thread anyone?

Excellent photo comparisons. Thank you. The color of Buff's egg appears to be what my CL lay when they're at full cartridge ... which will be soon. I'm noticing on a low tone hen that the inside of her eggshell is bluer than the outside of her eggshell.
