Like most I just moved to other things especially when they redid the site, and Sally's thread really died down. I have lost my red's mostly now. First I sold all my chicks one year, the next we got five inches of rain and some dumb hen took them out in the rain so they died, then I got a year...
If anyone e raising heritage rir near Joplin Missouri I need to replace my old hens. Well, really just get some young enough to hatch chick. I lost my roosters last winter and at past five my girls are too old
Well, I hope you find out what it was and feel better soon. With the one I lost I only have five hens. I am going to leave them together for now and just try for numbers. I may seperate them later on.
My first hatch of the year goes into lockdown today.

I set my first batch yesterday! This is a mixed group just for numbers after loosing my best pullet from my group. I will be separating my three from Fred's two for the next batch that I plan to do after these hatch.

My vet did a basic cut and look. Nothing obviously wrong (no organ issues) feed with a few bits if grass and leaves in her crop, but no sign of digestion for several days, and a total lack of body mass. I could not afford a full necropsy. I hope you get an answer to help your RSL.
