That’s true! I bought some collard starts and had never cooked them before so watched YouTube videos. They used bacon, ham, smoked turkey etc and Of course the splash of vinegar. I became a convert!!!
I have dozens of hazelnut trees and we never get a nut. This year the squirrels also ate all our cherries before they could ripen! I’m thinking of looking for squirrel pie recipes!!!:rant
I picked some big leaves off a broccoli plant and gave them to the chickens. My neighbor Bernie stopped by and I showed him my potatoes. He was pleased because he’d given me his leftover seed potatoes. Hopefully he will next spring as well!
I saw a guy use an Angel food cake pan. You shove the cob down through the hole. I don’t remember how he propped the pan up but it looks pretty slick! Good luck!
I think chickens understand a lot more than they are given credit for. It’s just that they aren’t dogs and don’t have the need to please gene! :gig I’ve had a few that knew their names. They wouldn’t necessarily come when called, but you could tell they understood I was talking to them and not...
It could be they are getting too much water. If you can tent them a bit to keep the rain off it might help them heat wise. I grow them in the Pacific Northwest and have noticed as long as they are on the dry side at harvest they taste much better!
In my experience they are very very tough plants. My neighbor dropped some over the fence for me and I never got around to planting them and they are still growing where they dropped.
