Same here We were way behind in yearly rainfall until a couple weeks ago. We've had 7"+ since then. So Startin to catch up. But it is still soakin in and I had to water the other day as no rain for a few days and top few inches of soil was startin to get dry again.

It's called Tobacco mosaic. Can't say exactly what it does but only affects the tobacco family of plants. Which includes tomato, Peppers and eggplant and there may be others in that family I don't know about. It's been advised to NOT use any tobacco products in their vicinity.

I don't can much now but have in the past so take it with a grain of salt. As long as the lids sucked in and sealed good I think you will be OK. You have killed off all bacteris with the heat and as long as the lids are sealed no more bacteria can come in. Hope others chime in though.

What kinda beans? There are determinate and indeterminate (of a lot of plants). Determinate Produce lots of fruit, pretty much all @ once while an indeterminate gorws less @ a time but longer. When they stop producing to your expectations is when I remove them from the garden.
