I think I grew those tomatoes a couple of years ago. Some tomato starts that I picked up at a small, local greenhouse. I know they were German something - but the lady didn't know what kind they were when I went back the next year to get more. They were very good, my Mom loved them.
This is my opinion, but dehydrated zucchini doesn't sound good as a chip. I think raw zucchini is nasty, it needs to be cooked with seasoning and oil. Good idea for me if I want to store it long term to use it in cooking when fresh is not available. Soup, stews. Add to meatloaf to sneak in a...
I would like to help, but I am not understanding your predicament: You glued the angles to the tubing - so those parts fit. But the posts don't fit into the reducers.
What are you using for posts? and why not use the same material as you used for tubing.
Instead of cutting off all the parts...
@BReeder! I always have snow pea, snap pea and garden peas in my garden - surprising that you don't have any of them on your list. Great for fresh snacking while you watch the kids weed, lol.
I grew up snacking on pea pods in the garden during the summer. My first garden was 2 pumpkin...
The commercial Pick Your Own Strawberry place nearby covers their strawberries with straw for the winter. If there isn't enough snow cover on top of the straw, they experience losses. Not enough snow cover means nasty ice forming on the plants.
@BReeder! That bucket of habaneros looks so pretty! Wish you were close enough to drop by and buy some from you. DH would love some, but I don't grow hot peppers anymore.
Just a warning, since you are dehydrating peppers - make sure to scrub well and get all the pepper oils off the...
When we lived in Cheyenne, WY, DH was told by a city cop that a good chunk of their calls are to the Walmart and he personally will only shop there when he has his gun with him.
I managed to pick up 3 boxes of lids at Fleet Farm, and for a normal price too. Limit of 3 per customer. I had...
Our setter was a pound baby, although we bought him from a guy who adopted him from the pound. The guy was being very picky about who got to take him, he loved the dog but knew it was not a dog for living at their tiny city lot. The dog had a path wore down to dirt along the entire length of...
Instead of digging up the entire plant, you can just gently dig around the root area and see if there are any harvestable size tubers. I do that all season long to get the new potatoes for summer cooking.
The trees and shrubs around here are forming blossom buds, but not even close to blooming yet, hopefully they will withstand the freezing temps for the next 3 nights.
I need to go out with the ATV and trailer and pick up all the asparagus fronds from last year. By removing them from the area...
When we bought our boat, we lived 15 minutes from 3 different lakes. One lake was actually Wissota Lake - made "famous" by a reference in the movie Titanic. That was the big lake that we would go tubing on - Musky, Panfish, Bass, Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye. One was close to the city so...
Csn you add some heat sinks to your greenhouse? Like a row of milk jugs filled with water and painted black. They can sit under your shelves as long as they get sunlight on them. They will heat during the day and slowly release heat at night as the greenhouse cools off.
I just gotta say - not all Rhodesian Ridgebacks are mean. Wrong dog for the wrong person most likely.
A friend of mine loved Rhodesians, the only dog he would own. He drove 8 hours round trip to look at puppies, then 6 weeks later drove back to pick up his new pup.
His were the biggest couch...
creosote is about the only thing that will keep porcupines from eating plywood. We used it on our tree stands to keep the porcupines from chewing them to pieces.
Please don't plant bee attracting flowers right around a mailbox. Yes it looks pretty, but it can be a problem for the mailmen or yourself.
The bees can get angry when the mailman get close to open the mailbox and will sting. One of the mailmen in our town is allergic to bee stings and...
With the mess that weeping willow make, those suckers are going out in the field, lol. Luckily we have 24 acres. Turns out that DH and I really like the looks of the weeping willows, we both grew up with neighbors that had them, but have enough experience with them to keep them away from the...
I got some weeping willow branches from a friend and put 1 foot long pieces into water to root last week. They are already rooting and starting to put out leaves. I will need to plant into dirt soon, I better go out to the potting shed and find 20 containers to plant trees into.
Now to...
