Same here. The first few times I was sure I'd be sore the next day. Nope. But the next day... 30 years ago, the time lapse was more like 36 hours. Even my pain is slower now than it used to be. :gig

I picked some rhubarb today, and have it prepping in the fridge. There was a few stalks left over, so I made rhubarb custard. It's tasty, but the custard is a mess, broken and watery. I'll try making it again and use cornstarch to thicken it next time. It might still be a mess; it's tasty enough...

Another turtle visited us too. This time, NOT a snapper. I think she made a nest in the driveway, right in a tire lane. Not a good place. It has been driven over several times already. :(

We dug some fiddlehead ferns out of our woods. They spread and filled in the area where we planted them. They look lovely. They come up about the time the daffodils are done.

I keep thinking I want one. I'd love to hear what you think of yours. Here are my concerns: How loud are they? What temp (min/max) can the ambient temp in the room be? Do they need a 220 line? I don't. I know myself well enough that I'd always wonder... did that thing close/open? My neighbor...

I have a magnesium citrate supplement, 2 pills recommended/day. If I take 2, I get the runs. If I take 1, it's not as bad, but can still be a problem.

She was interested, but on leash, so she was kept at a safe distance. I wonder what that snapper weighed? It sure looked substantial.

The snapping turtle left this morning. I could find NO disturbance to the ground, at all. Maybe she could have smoothed the ground, but she surely didn't replant the weeds that were there. :lol: So maybe not female. Or maybe just wanted to rest and spend the night somewhere.

That's what we thought too.

This snapping turtle is in our side yard right now. Its head is easily the size of my fist.

My hands and knees are feeling the work I did yesterday. I'm thinking I'll get a load of laundry going and go back to bed for a nap.

Oh, the debacle with Ferrellgas (the local gas company we use; they seem pretty tame to me) is all straightened out as far as we're concerned. The story: On Feb. 29th, they filled the neighbor's tank by mistake, and handed her a bill with our name on it. She called me, I called Ferrellgas...
