I still had a couple of patches of snow left yesterday, but I bet it's all gone today. I agree, it didn't feel very Christmasy with such warm temps! Maybe next year.

He was delicious!! There wasn't much of him left, but there was a lot of the store bought turkey leftover....

I also represented turkeys in the show us your flock picture, but mine is not only turkeys. I think I got 1 turkey and the rest are chickens in my flock pictures.

Okay, thanks. We just put down the turkey. Went with the younger one. Now off to butcher him. For me the hardest part is the actual putting them down.

I'm butchering mine tomorrow. It will probably take me all day, if not into Sunday to get it all plucked. :he I'm a very slow plucker. :lau I was trying to remember how many days turkeys are suppose to rest before you cook them. I was trying to decide between 3 days and 5 days.

That's the hard part! They are pretty close in size and both have a great temperament! Both are good are the chickens and people, including small children.

Which turkey should stay and which one should become Thanksgiving dinner? There are only 2 turkeys in the running. The 2 year old turkey ( with the beard got his picture loaded in twice). The other turkey ( last picture, no beard) is a year old. I have 1 hen, a royal palm, so I don't need 2...

I bought an turkey poult about 3 to 5 months ago because my Tom only has 1 hen and I thought he needed at least 1 more. I've been positive that the new turkey is a female, well, that is until I was showing my brother and his wife and the new turkey spread it's tail feathers just like the tom...

Ugh! I hadn't thought about the mosquitoes. I'll have to walk around and check for standing water and make sure I dump any I find. I do dump my waterers ( kiddie pools) every 2 or 3 days (whenever I see the first wiggler in the water).
