I think you would be able to feel the egg. That's the only thing I can think of too, since it is not soft and squishy, and the vent was clean. Hope someone who knows more than I do pops on here and give you some advice.

I'd be all in for coop maid service too, IF they take care of my chickens the way I do. :rolleyes:

Good idea! I put Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth in their dust bathing holes and in the straw and sand in their coop. Haven't had any issues with mites.

We cleaned the coop yesterday after the winter deep litter build up. Nice to get new straw in there. Cleaned up all the feed and water jugs too. Just a general all around once over. I love a clean coop!!! Not that there isn't some attention paid to it daily, but it needs the deep clean...
