small area to bother. I put a pallet and a long piece of styrofoam. transplanted some tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. ok at the moment. when plants grow big my dogs don't enter the garden. I still have some leaks and kale so watering and waiting for the new plants to grow.
I have both + 10 others + milk thistle. I am thinking how to bring my goats to take care of that. the overgrown area is not fenced and they might easily damage my garden and trees.
I had to google it, lol. I grew up eating tons of green butter lettuce. as I didn't drink much milk neither ate much cheese as a kid I believe butter lettuce helped me build strong bones. they are packed with calcium. my grandparents used a lot of limestone to break up heavy clay soil...
we don't have names for varieties but that lettuce is my favourite.
nursery I buy plants and seeds from is wright next to pet feed store. when I go to buy dog/cat food I usually come back with some plant/tree/seeds, lol.
I have black beauty and some yellow. I plan to plant 1 variety first and about 3 months later when it is done I will plant another one. that way they don't cross pollinate.
I didn't plant corn. nights are still cold here and I don't want to waste my precious seeds (oaxaca green). we had some rain that brought us cold but not enough water.
I need something invasive around the fence. goji berry is on top of my list.
snakes are coming out so irrigation system on the last part of my plot has to wait. we expect another rainy and cold day so gardening has been postponed too. 6 goslings hatched, muscovie ducklings should be hatched...
