Cockerel.Exhibit C.
Those little combs and the feathers together have been what is throwing me off. All the small combs are pale. The large combs are turning pinkish. The feathers are a mystery. She is a pullet.
Thank you so much. I will stick with my 'small, pale comb' method to separate out for now. There are 6 total i need to be looking at. And it is mish mosh of insanity. Lol.That one looks like a cockerel. At this age you are looking for comb and wattle growth. Any chicks with large bright red wattles and combs are cockerels. Females will have small pale combs and wattles. Looking at the saddle area isn't going to be an indicator right now. Male specific feathering won't come in until 10-12 weeks old at least.
Pullet, and so are all the fully visible birds in the first picture.Exhibit D.... are just a bunch of shots of the 'small pale combs' that I had lumped together. Didn't bother adding the pics of the tail feathers as it doesn't seem like it matters now.
Thank you so much for your help!!!Pullet, and so are all the fully visible birds in the first picture.
