*DEBUNKED* Toxic Levels of Lead in Black Rubber Feed Bowl Water, 30 mg/L, 2000 Times EPA Limits

I'll stand by my original reply to you. I was in the middle of trying to undo a bunch of stuff and your 2 cents were not needed. Look in the mirror, maybe you really are a ....

The risk isn't them adding anything, its the existing lead content in recycled rubber and not knowing the source of the rubber used in some of the bowls.

I agree that there needs to be independent and scientific testing of a wide sample of these bowls. Fortex is the brand of mine, and it is made in USA. How would it compare against a Chinese made bowl? I do not have the resources to purchase a variety of bowls and test them all accurately for...

Finally finished editing the 5 gig of video taken yesterday, plus a disclaimer in the beginning thanking this forum for its help that I recorded today, and have the video posted. I want to thank all of you for the valuable information and guidance you provided during this process.

See the link in Molpet's post. Apparently most of these lead test kits are nearly useless. The failure of these tests does not make these bowls known safe or known to be unsafe. Hopefully someone with the correct equipment and skills will do some testing on a wide sample of these bowls...

Thanks for that link. So it seems almost any home test kit for lead in water is almost worthless. I wish I knew this earlier, especially seeing that I no longer know for certain if our well water is lead free.

Just want to share images of what I was seeing: My 4pm Test showing 15mcg/L: My 6pm Test results which caused me to retract my previous statements and mark this thread as Debunked: Sorry if I caused any unneeded panic, and I'm still not sure if these bowls are safe or not. I'd rather error...

It won't let me edit the title, but I will put something on the first post. Just tried to edit the first post, won't let me do that either. I will report my own post so that the title can be edited. FYI: I would still encourage people to test their own watering system, using a better product...

6PM TESTING UPDATE: Unable to confirm lead content. I've spent most of this Saturday attempting to confirm or deny the results in this video. In my last test at 6pm, (5 hours) under bright lighting and checking the test strip thru the camera instead of with my naked eyes, I got a ZERO reading...

TESTING UPDATE: Firstly, I want to thank you all for the suggestions on retesting the water. I have started that process and wanted to give you some update. A full video will be on my youtube channel probably sometime tomorrow. Before testing I vigorously rinsed out the water bowl with a...

I got a 100 pack of test strips from Amazon when I was setting up my well about 4 months ago. The brand was Lawnful and the kit was about $25 I don't know if they are 100% accurate, but they read 0 on my well water, and 30 mg/L on the water out of the bowl. Anything other than 0 is a concern...

I just found them available pn a few sites. • 100% Natural Virgin Rubber. • Toxin Free. • Food grade. Seems like a better alternative than the cheap one I picked up at Tractor Supply. -- hmm, seems this brand is only available in Australia.

Just to clarify some more, hopefully with out digressing too much... My chickens are watered using a Brute food safe trash can which feeds a PVC pipe and Nipple watering system. That rubber bowl hung out in my coop and was mainly used for when temps got below freezing, and I'd put it on one of...

Believe me, I'm no genius either, but I was testing Rain water in that bowl using a Well Water test strip.
