Today we helped a friend clean out/rearrange his pole barn. I'd guess it's 30x40...? He has a '57 Chevy that was parked against the back wall, blocked in by stuff/junk/things he can't or won't get rid of.

Dang! One of our hives was building cross comb. We ripped some apart when we pulled the frame, not knowing it was there. They. Were. MAD! They were dive bombing us, and we did the little bit we had to do and got the heck out of there!
I am right handed, but two times in my life, I've injured my right hand and had to write, etc. with my left hand.

Pardon my ignorance. Are you talking about frames with plastic foundation? That's all I have. I can't picture what you're describing using a plastic foundation.
I'd heard that plastic foundation had crappy wax from the manufacturer, so I was going to rub some of the (very little) wax I had that...
I did some looking online... I think what I'm seeing is called cross comb.
We did scrape it off, and realized it was full of developing brood. Oh, wow, did the bees get mad. And I don't blame them.
That was in Hive #1. Hive #2 is a split from #1, and we didn't see cross comb. But #1's bees...
Oh man. I hope they build "real" comb...
