    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I use fermented feed. A trick you could try when feeding them is to sprinkle some of their dry food on top. Good luck!

    2 Broodies

Thank you for the warning. I had thought of putting a divider between the two before hatching day. I am working on another cage to put Momma and chicks in when hatching day approaches.

    2 Broodies

Thank you for replying. If I get another broody :fl, I will try that. I broke down and put the 2nd hen in the cage with the first broody. They are at opposite ends of the cage and are happy. The first broody (Maisie) is due around May 12. The 2nd broody (Midge) will be due around May 23...

    2 Broodies

I have a young EE setting on 5 eggs. She is halfway through (10 days left). I now have another EE that is broody. I really don't need anymore chicks. Can I take 2 eggs from the first broody and put under the 2nd one? OR Is it possible to have 2 broodies in the same cage?

Looking to Rehome a Rooster - South Florida

I am sorry to hear the sad news. I have put my roosters on NextDoor and CraigsList. I 'vet' the people before I give them away. Good Luck!

    Negative temps

Does anyone put Castor Oil on the Rooster's comb and wattle? I have heard that this will keep it from getting frostbite.

    One last hen

I have been in your shoes. She'll be okay but it would be better if she had another hen or young hens to pal around with. Good luck!

Like you we can see the storms coming. It is like our road has a barrier up. If I can just find the button to open it!

Well Kiki, it would be nice if you could send it my way (Rosenberg). I see the lightning your way but nothing happening here. I have 3 loads of laundry out--think that will help?

    The horse chat!

I used to have ponies and had a Strawberry Roan gelding. I miss riding and interacting with them. My Dad farmed with Belgians. So I guess my favorites would be the Draft horses--so much power. :)

    Need advice

Good Morning! It has been 2 weeks since I wrote. Pepper has bounced back and is now with the flock. We had kept her isolated from the flock for a week. Her symptoms: She would walk a few steps and sit. She would get up, walk a few steps, and you could see her back end give way. She was...
