I'm going to take better pictures tomorrow but I think the body types are wrong for any old English Game Bantams. I've had them and they didn't look like this nor were they this wide and definitely didn't have feathered feet
Purchased 6 day old chicks. 4 female CCLs and 2 Males. Two older males and a hen. Now they are feathering out. Two of them look right to me for the breed. One of them looks similar but not quite right.
Anyone have any ideas?
I contacted the person I got them from she says they must be Crested...
I agree possibly game. Have you considered maybe a sapphire gem type cross? Those birds are part Andalusian. Wonder if they have done a bantam size version of them? Maybe with a Barred OEGB and a splash Andalusian rooster?
What makes you say d'uccle? What I'm not understanding is the feathered legs. Bmi would say Serama or even old English on the two black ones if it wasn't for both having feathered legs. Then on the white hen with the Japanese black tail, I would also say possibly Serama due to the blue leg color...
Saw these at a swap. Not sure what they are. Two sets actually. One set is all black, both hen and rooster, with black legs and feathered shanks. Will have to look to see if it's on the toes too. Straight combs. The feathered legs are tripping me up. Don't know what color eggs she lays yet. And...
Welcome 🤗 wish I lived closer as well! Would be happy to have him 😊 Good luck! Agree with previous poster to try your local LSN/Craigslist and maybe join some FB chicken groups in your area? We have one for Tennessee called poultry classifieds and egg and chick locator so maybe that will be some...
To be perfectly honest the quality of their feed has little to do with the actual percentage of protein. What is more important is the Amino Acids in their feed. You can feed less protein overall as long as they are getting the needed vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids. In my...
This is the rooster who fathered the chick in question. As you can see his color is a mismash. The tail color is what I wasn't really certain on whether he was just blue or possibly chocolate.
So- I have been doing some test hatches of a a trio of Easter eggers. I'm am not sure what color the rooster is he is an Americana and not any recognized color. The two hens I have with him are white, one is all white with green legs with a regular pea comb, and the other is Paint with very dark...
The sex of a chick is determined by your hens. If your hatching lots of males try getting new hens from different lines. The chick sex is determined by the chromosome that the hen gives up "Z" and it's a male, "W" and it's a female. Your rooster always passes on "Z" because that's all he has to...

I did find this group a few months back and have enjoyed their content. There are a few others I will have to dig up though. I'll be back with those 😊
Yes- they are definitely silkied Cochins. Combs are correct, leg/feet/shank colors are correct, beak color, skin color, etc. just silkied feathers. I suspect either someone breed it in way back or the breeder that the roo came from actually had both smooth and silkie Cochins and that the roo was...
I went and looked at that post but my brain works in a different way and I'm having trouble comprehending exactly which colors and crosses would result in sex links and what sexs/colors they would be for each cross. I'm a visual learner and I have ADD so having trouble with sorting out the...
