This is my in coop brooder room. When they're brand new I have wire screens on the platform so they don't fall off. Then at a few weeks they learn how to do a ladder and roost bar.
I can find zero reasons to choose house over coop short of insanely high or low temps that you can't control. I think alot of people who start out with chicks in the house, gain confidence to start in the coop. This is an excellent read. ENJOY and Congrats...
Unfortunately you probably won't hear back from the OP. Are you looking for the same thing? Privett's website is under construction but I get gorgeous French Blue and French Black CM from them.
Brahma's and Orpington's are on my list of sweet but not exactly Isa brown. I've had so many issues with mean RIR's that I don't even get RIR mixes... So back to the sweet list... Creme Legbar, Speckled Sussex in addition to Orp and Brahma. And when it comes to Orps I prefer other colors, not...
What is your objective exactly though? To MAX out your space, provide only minimum or ?? Case in point, going bigger will always be better. My run is 500sq. ft. but I don't have 50 birds in it, I have 14. And that's only when they're not enjoying 5 acres free range.... I wouldn't even have...
This is highly dependent on where you are. Obviously, Jungle fowl have survived for many years in Hawaii. But there are many factors that support that and would not be the same in my area.....
True Story: Getting ready for Hawaii, I lost 20lb's and still ate bacon every single day. Costco Kirkland pre-cooked bacon is only 45 calories per slice and it's great, crispy. I mean nothing can beat smoked farm fresh full fat bacon but this is at least pork still and not turkey or veggie or...
Ramp, chair, bench... I always have just something for my older ladies but at that age, can you post a pic? Is she for sure well? I do have one young barnevelder that is just "off," and needs help....
I noticed the site has been semi down for about 2 weeks. I have really good luck with Privett, I feel like they're good at chick sexing and the white dot has never turned out to be cockerel for me. But yeah fingers crossed!
I get mine from Privett too! I've had really good luck with Privett. This is my French Black CM from Privett. She's so fun. They definitely are big gals! She makes a "Thud, Thud" when she walks down the hall in my coop, lol. Can't wait for my newer Blue one to mature.
Copper wouldn't come through until mature. My girl for comparison is for sure purebred French Blue CM, they seem to be around same age and mine for sure has no copper YET. My Black CM hen didn't get Copper this young either.
Sorry I don't have better recent pics but this is my FBCM girl from chick to just yesterday, she's 10-11 weeks. Looks alot like yours but you have a point about her comb. Yours could be FBCM mix.
