The eggs have been disposed of.
And one of Rahab's chicks died this afternoon.
:hit
It was just sitting in the nesting box about 3pm, not moving. I offered it water and mash, smearing some on its beak, but it refused to eat or drink. I managed to get it to take some vitamin B and D solution...
I know I saw an article or thread with photos of candled eggs that didn't hatch, with explanations, but cannot find it.
Here's what didn't hatch

Tamar has made the switch from broody to momma. She's showing her two what's good to eat.
Rahab is doing the same, both broodies are doing well, for first-time mommas.
So big, wow!
I plan to keep the best cockerel or two since it will add genetic material to my flock. We'll see.
Nothing happening in the incubator, guess that's all.
Sunday Morning Update
Winding down here. I removed the remaining unhatched eggs from Tamar's nest last night, candled, and put them in the incubator, but they didn't look viable. HOWEVER, some of the eggs that eventually hatched didn't look viable to me, either, so I will give them another...
I refurbished the brooder I'd used for the original Sussex chicks and the Dominique chicks.
I had to place cardboard over the sides as the paparazzi hens were upsetting Tamar! 🤣

And.... we're up to SEVEN!!!
:th
I moved Rahab and her bunch into the A-frame brooder, the chicks were already making forays outside the nesting box.
:love
I'll set up the other brooder this afternoon, for Tamar and the remaining chicks. The chick in her nest that was zipping had hatched...
Now I am thinking about housing a second brood. I have the A-frame brooder refreshed with clean straw, ready for Rahab and her brood...but what about Tamar? Her nest is in a wheelbarrow in the back, near the roost.
I could use my dog crate brooder with a cover added to keep the flock from 💩...
I took the three chicks that had hatched outside to the coop. I checked the pipped egg I'd placed under Rahab earlier, but nothing had progressed. As I reached underneath Rahab she gave me a strong peck, not painful, just firm. I took one chick in my hand, reached under Rahab using the back of...
I checked on Tamar's eggs. Tamar was NOT on her nest, she was perched on the back of my chair, fluffed up and announcing her state. I checked her eggs and found one that had pipped!
:ya
I made an immediate executive decision, and slid the pipped egg under Rahab, who has been faithfully brooding...
