Exactly! Best to find something that doesn't even want flour. I do like the gluten free Graham crackers ground up and put into a sawdust pie. Tastes as good as the gluten-full version.

I early on (back in the days before gluten-free was so popular, so gluten-free items were usually horrid), learned a bunch of recipes that never wanted flour anyway. So, rice pudding, chocolate soufflé, flourless chocolate cake, creme brulee, and lots of pies and such just made in a ramkin...

Nooooooo :lau I don't even have a Walmart. Closest Costco is in Anchorage... many hours away. This is why I am paying a local person to bake all of the excellent goodies as well as make a fancy wedding cake.

Oh, and I was thinking.... talking of cost... to hire out the desserts... I don't want too much work for us.

:lau Not to worry, this is a Alaskan wedding, so the clothes will be stain-free, hole free, and maybe ironed... as in I am thinking of buying new button down church shirts for all the boys (actually, I was thinking to buy those no-iron ones). We are used to wearing second hand, and garage...

Though that would save money... I want only minimal cooking to do... Enough to think about with the wedding, I want to minimize what needs to be done last minute.

Ok... how many of you have been to a wedding recently??? I am helping put together, and pay for (:lau how did that part happen??) A wedding. Son #2 is getting married the end of the summer. And bride wanted to marry here, instead of at her parents place..... so... I have us only...

Insane!!!! Not sure when I last updated this thread.... Kid 2 is getting married end of summer. The woman is a fantastic match for my son. I actually think that they will be happily married. A bear tore open a bunch of my coops... ate over half my poultry. I blame all the Californians...

The kids, they are 25 to 15, got the tree by themselves this year... I was too sick, and spouse has a messed up foot... The kids also decorated the tree... bare bones, but lovely (candycanes, mushrooms, lights, and a few ornaments, a tiny angel from my childhood for the top). It has been...
