No problem. Just remember, I am in no way responsible for sugar/chocolate comas, hyperlipidemia, or increases of pant sizes that may result due to ingestion of this recipe. :lau

Tis the season to bake cookies fa la la la la la la la la.....etc etc. I mentioned on @pennyJo1960 s coffee club thread that I was baking these and was asked if it was here on the home bakers thread. I looked, can't find it so I thought I would add it. I found this recipe over 40 years ago. My...

    Any Home Bakers Here?

No, this is a regular white loaf bread. Simple ingredients. 2 cups warm water 2/3 cup of sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons of yeast Let yeast mixture proof then add 1/4 cup of oil 1 1/2 tsp of salt 6 cups of bread flour. My recipe calls for 6 cups but I usually dump four cups in, stir the sponge until...

Yeah, pretty encouraging.....not. But thank you Sally. Shame about the Cuisinart. Just shows that a fancy well known name means Jack these days. I did look at the trouble shooting site. I'm actually more precise with my measuring with the machine than I am when I make my hand kneaded bread...

    Any Home Bakers Here?

Question for y'all concerning bread machines. I have a Hamilton Beach model that is about 7 years old now. Never caused me any trouble till recently. I use it when I'm tired to make bread to hold us over till I can make my usual Amish Sweet White recipe. Three days ago I threw in the...

Thank you. Wasn't really intending to ask for one. Said it would be nice if there was one. But would only need it for this thread so no worries. Prolly wouldn't get it just for one thread. Just making an observation. Would be much easier to click on a reaction emoji then do a whole new post with...

@Floydie, deepest condolences on the loss of Lola. We lost our SIdney the first of May, last year to an incurable parasite infection that ravaged her body. She showed symptoms and was taken from us to cross the rainbow bridge in 6 short days. I still mourn for her. You can find her story here...

Thanks @troyer. Plus it passed the happy husband taste test! @Sequel I LOVE horseradish! A taste I acquired from my dad who loved to eat it with roast pork or roast beef. When I was little if my dad ate it that was good enough for me! I was in hog heaven when Arby's came out with Horsey sauce!

Thank you! It's Amish Sweet White Bread. I found it years ago on the internet somewhere but it's listed here as Amish Bread. It's delicious. First time I made it it spoiled us as far as ever eating store bought bread again is concerned. If I make bread machine bread, which I do mainly if I'm...

Bread came out great. I only took a picture of one loaf. The other got hacked into a few minutes after it was turned out f the pan. I have a new motto: He who says you should wait for bread to cool before you cut into it has never had the blissful pleasure of biting into a slice of piping hot...

I've got some that is very mild tasting and light. I use it on pasta and haven't noticed any harsh 'olive' taste to it. @Sally PB , I'm not Ron but I used to have a sourdough mix that when you made your dough at night, you let it set and rise over night then finished it in the morning. The...
