    Stollen is WONDERFUL! It is not a very sweet bread. So if you want it sweeter.... add a bit of honey atop it. Mmmmmmm! German pastries are my favs! They have just enough sweet but not sickeninly sweet like american desserts are. Usually the cake itself in german pastries is not sweet at all...

    To me stollen is like a fruit cake with more of a bread dough than cake batter. But without the candied fruits in there. It is usually fresh fruits.

    Mever had em that way. But omg i am for sure gonna try it! I love dates. I florida i could buy fresh dates in a market i went to. And i miss that a lot. These are butter, sugar, chopped dates all cooked. Then add crushed rice crispies. Make balls while still hot and roll in powdered sugar.
