I’ve just hatched 45 out of 50 jumbo Wisconsin bobs from Wadley quail farm in my hove-bator 1602n and an auto egg turner.
I’ve been hatching for a long time and this was a great one. It started slow and then went like popcorn!
I do coturnix quail in a rabbit hutch. I’ve fed them my chicken layer with good results.
very easy to raise and keep.
Bob whites are a entire different story.
I e-mailed Kalmbach asking if they were associated with any of the purina type brands and they got right back to me saying they were independent. So I just ordered 200 # from chewi.com. I’ll give it a try.
Do what’s best for you. Don’t bother trying to discuss too much. You will be called names, belittled for not have a lab in your basement to analyze the feed, etc.
find a feed that is not related to any of the products you have been using and move on.
enjoy your birds and the piece of mind you...
My local mill can get it. They gave me a copy of retail product guide. Lots of options from Kalmback for both chickens and game birds.. (I do quail too)
with the feedback I’m getting from all of you I’m going to give it a try.
thanks!!
with all the bs regarding feed I’m looking for an independent source.
one of my local guys has Kalmbach products.
they appear to be an independent manufacturer of animal feeds but at this point who the heck knows.
any info would be appreciated.
thanks!
