I could have sworn I already had my location in my profile. I just went and added it.
Oh, yeah. I should have mentioned that this was for the future not now. I would wait until at least 16 weeks before I would even start letting them free range my yard supervised.
There are a lot more than the...
I have 6, 7 week old chicks of various breeds (Brahmas, jersey giants, barred rock, Orpington) and was wondering how safe they would be free ranging. We have around a 1/3 of an acre with a lot of that being woods. They would have the run and coop open all day. My backyard is fenced I as well. I...
Is Princess looking like a cockerel to anyone else? She (well I guess maybe he) is a 6.5 week old light Brahma. The lighting is pretty bad and the comb is a bit darker than the picture shows
Here is jingle my dark Brahma who is the same age for comparison

I hate to say it but you absolutely should call the cops and charge her for trespassing. I personally don’t mind people letting there dogs sniff around in my front yard and driveway but purposely chasing and harassing someone’s animals is completely unacceptable and stuff like that absolutely...
I just change it once a week. I have a 15 or so gallon waterer that I keep about 10 gallons of water in (so I can move it easily) and it doesn’t really get dirty. I just think it is a good habit to change it even if it isn’t dirty so it seemed like a good interval which has been working good so far
To me, the light gray and white one looks to be for sure a rooster. The one with a gold head and gray body also looks like it most likely is a rooster as well.
Welcome!
I am a big fan of jersey giants and Brahmas. They are friendly, decent layers, and fun to hang out with. They are also pretty big so they are a bit less likely to get attacked by predators.
