It got up to 34° today. 
I think we're through the worst of it. We had three -30° nights but all the birds made it through okay. What about you?

What?!?! You're out of the negatives?!?! Lucky!!! It didn't get above -2 all day.
I thought it felt warm though.
We've had some terribly cold days the past week here. -28 one of the days, all day.
I even brought in a couple of the ducks, Vi was getting frostbite because she wouldn't stay out of the pool. Lol

Poor little thing! The pond froze a while back, so all my ducks 'n geese have been getting is a bucket of water. The ducks are in the greenhouse with a motly assortment of chickens & a couple turkeys, so they've got it easy. The geese lay around their water buckets dipping their heads. I've been keeping them in pretty late, mornings.

Yeah. It's been chilly. I keep a kiddie pool heated for the ducks, and they love it. But they're always in it, no matter the outdoor temp. I have to shoo them out of it all the time.
The chickens are just disgusted by winter. They hate me, they think I made it this way.

The 1st coop chickens have been camped out there for three days and it's not that big. They like it there, though; that's where they want to sleep. 
Today I shooed them out into the well-trampled snow, squawking like I'd kilt 'em. 
. They spent the rest of the day in the 2nd coop then all crowded back into the 1st for bed.
