I personally don’t think she is a white rock just due to how small the comb is. But how much does she weigh? That could help to narrow down the possible breeds.

chickens can be so smart at times and then go and freak out and act like the world is ending because they forgot how to go around an open door to get inside.

My guess is that it is a combination of two things- 1. It is her first time going broody and may need a bit to figure out how to actually sit on eggs 2. A lot of silkies seem to be lacking in the brain department.

This is not true. Reptiles are shipped nearly exclusively through fedex. And this doesn’t apply to anything. My dad has toured multiple FedEx facilities for business reasons and has told me how there were chicks running all over the place during one of them.
