    Eggbound

It has a thick, sticky center so not so easy to mix into water. I tried that. I put it in a syringe the best I could and just gooped it on her beak to irritate her enough to eat some. She's not wanting much from what I can tell but I'm also trying to leave her alone. I made her scrambled eggs...

    Eggbound

Yes I did, but all they had was the softgel capsules. She didn't take that very easily and I didn't want to hold onto her too firmly and accidently bust the egg. I gave her what I could though. I'll get more creative in the morning. I'm thinking on how to get her to take it better.

    Eggbound

I've touched it but then she tenses up and it goes back down. It's seriously a huge egg. It feels about 2" long and maybe 1" to 1½" wide just from what I can feel from the outside. I could be wrong obviously since that's through her skin, etc. The leaking stopped now so maybe it was just the...

    Eggbound

Oh, not a buttom quail, she was in with a button quail to keep her separated. She is a Coturnix. It's in her abdomen. Most of time. It comes close where I can feel it with my pinky when I for to feel around for it and them it goes back down. The shell feels crackly which it didn't before she...

    Eggbound

Thank you. I'll try that. She is already in a crate but with a button quail as I didn't have place to put the button quail at the moment. My kids being home for the summer complicate the quiet part when having to work on her frequently. Hopefully I can get my husband to take them away today...

    Eggbound

I don't have the funds for that at the moment. Everything is going summer camps and fixing vehicles. The shell is already cracked so there's a chance she'll break it on her own also, especially if she jumps on something. It can be seen and felt easily on the outside of her body so if she hits...

    Eggbound

Thanks, I'm hoping she can get it out. I was trying to get my finger on it get good enough to break it and pull it out at this point but I can't get a grip on it since it so far down and too big. They are so tiny and she tightens up and I can only use my pinky which is so much harder to grip with.

    Eggbound

Best way to get a very large egg out. We've soaked, used mineral oil, tums, gentle massages, I've tried getting my pinky in there to try to help it out, but the m this egg is too large I think to get close enough. She startled and has cracked the shell. I wouldn't normally worry too much as...

    Impacted Salivary Gland

Unfortunately, that kind of testing isn't available for us at the moment. We did try everything that would be recommended I would assume for respiratory disease. Tylan, erythromycin, Enrofloxacin, and used terramycin. I'm at a loss of what else could be used for this to clear it up. None of that...

    Impacted Salivary Gland

It never cleared up with antibiotics though. It never even got better. It got better on it's own when it stopped everything for a couple a months and let her free range alone but then when our pollen count went up it seems like that's when her eye got worse again, could be coincidence though.

    Impacted Salivary Gland

It's also squishy and not hard. I've dealt with eye stuff before but this is completely different. I cannot get this to clear up.

    Impacted Salivary Gland

I've done all that and nothing worked. No pus either. She's had it since October and has been with the flock since then. She's the only one with it.

    Impacted Salivary Gland

Is this possibly an impacted salivary gland? I've tried multiple antibiotics since October and nothing works. It almost cleared up but then it flared back up recently and is getting worse. Not sure if she's allergic to something or what's going on. There's nothing hard in there. If I push on it...

    Jubilee Crosses

That chicken calculator isn't as user friendly as the turkey calculator I've used. Maybe use friendly is the wrong term, probably beginner friendly. I'd have to do a lot of research to figure all that out, which I can do. I was just hoping for something more simple.

    Jubilee Crosses

Thank you. I had a splash blue jubilee hen but she died before I could incubate their eggs. I'm getting done Jubilee eggs to incubate. I'm waiting for my local lady to hatch babies for me to buy the same mix again so I can keep that breed going. I was just curious what would happen while I was...

    Jubilee Crosses

I have a Blue Jubilee Orpington rooster and I'm about to get Jubilee Orpington hatching eggs. I'm also looking for other Orpington chicks. What crosses would he make with what colors? I'm not sure if there's a calculator for that like the one for turkey genetics but if there is, please share!

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

I know it will come off. Very evident that it will. I just read that it should have by now from everything I have read. Maybe the little bit of blood flow she did have kept it from happening sooner. It was hard to tell for awhile. As her foot was a completely solid ice block when I found her. I...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Definitely a lot slower than what research said that's for sure. I was sure hoping it would go faster for her as I know it has to be uncomfortable and probably painful but I'm uncomfortable giving her any sort of pain reliever for that long. I don't even like taking it myself.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

@Allsfairinloveandbugs @Wyorp Rock Here's what's her foot looks like right now. Still a process. Definitely taking its time.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

She's only one toe. The foot wants to come off but still hasn't just yet. It's been a very slow process for her. She's still doing good though. She's walking, exploring small distances but puts herself back he safe place after about 10 minutes, and lays eggs frequently. She's still thin though...
