Oh nooooo Fluffy! 😞😭 I’m soooo sorry. Can you move the small number of Serama babies to their own little enclosure? I have Serama, King quail, Silkie, and some LF chicks together in small brooder flocks right now (3 separate brooder flocks). As mine are growing, I’ve started the separation...
Do you have any new photos of τσουρέκι and Freddie? I’d love to see them. ❤️ They must be growing so fast! And, is Freddie staying out of the water dish these days?
I DO need to TRY to get this on video, but one of my booted Seramas (hatched on April 24th) has been doing the baby squeaky crow for about a week. And, his teeny comb and wattles are getting pink. ❤️
ME TOO! Hes doing very good in the new brooder. I incubated this latest small clutch of king eggs, because the broodie shockingly passed away on the nest. He’s now 4 days old, and his siblings are 3 days.
Thank you Fluffy! 🥰 Evvie rules this roost! It’s great to know Freddie’s finally staying dry! Ornery tiny one! I’m having the same issue with my tiniest king quail. So much that I had to remove him and one of his hatch mates to their own brooder. He’s sooo small that I’m just using water bottle...
I know exactly what you’re talking about!
Quail chick + snuggly thing = happy quail chick!
Your chicks are so adorable and look so content on their plushie! ❤️
Thank you so much! 🥰 I agree about the bigger waterer and quail chicks. The budgie waterers I use have small openings but are too high for some of the chicks to reach. So, I have a lid with marbles for the itsy bitsys at one end of the brooder. I’ve got the tiniest one on a blanket right now. He...
Lids are a terrific idea. I place marbles to keep chicks from going in, but some always find a way to get wet! I’m brooding King quail chicks right now with the waterer in the last photo. They’re brooding with a Serama and Silkie. The tiniest one (the slate tuxedo, who happens to be the oldest)...
I brood small numbers, so here’s what I use. I just fill them and place in a corner, for my Serama chicks. That’s not really an option for your bigger brooder.
