This little one got caught in a fence and tore its neck up pretty good, so we nursed it back and got it all healed up. However, since doing that... It has become very fond of us. Anyone know if hen or Roo? It would be about 6-7 weeks old.
Also if you have a breed guess that would be amazing...
I have had the worst luck trying to hatch my guinea eggs. None seem to want to try and develop at all. They are all put in incubator within a few days from gathering. I have given some to several people and they all say the same thing. Do these even look fertile to any of you? I honestly can't...
Ok, so last year my husband bought some broad breasted turkeys. After getting them I was doing research which everything said they could not naturally breed. So, that's fine and all, but went to make one for breakfast this morning and to me... this turkey egg looks fertile?
So, this is my first time hatching guineas. They started hatching about 20 hours ago, so we are getting really close to the 24 hour mark, however I have some eggs just starting to pip. How long can I keep these kits in there so I don't mess up the new ones just trying to hatch.
Also... I have...
Last year my husband went and bought ducks. However, I'm having a hard time finding out what breed these are (He didn't remember that it was the day he brought it home) all I know is they were all together and bought at Orschelns. Never was really a big deal until now when I'm hatching eggs and...
So, we hatched some barnyard mix chickens. I am trying to determine sex of the chicks. They are about 2 1/2 weeks old. At one week old, I tested the feather sexing to determine that 2 could be roosters. Now, looking at these combs.. I'm thinking I could have two more roosters... (3rd image to...
So, I found this egg in my guinea coop today. However I do have one hen and a rooster in with them that I wanted to keep separate from the other chickens. So my question is... Is this a first guinea egg from one of the guineas or is this the hens first egg? The hen came from my mom not 100% on...
Ok, so my ducks are right at a year old. They were laying good and regular for several weeks. All of a sudden they stopped laying!! I have looked and looked and looked!!! What would cause them to stop laying all of a sudden?! Nothing within their environment has changed, they are all acting...
One bronze breasted turkey, one broad breasted white (?).... Can anyone tell me if these are male or female? Haven't seen much strutting from them. In the second picture... The one closest to me is a tom (assuming) due to the strutting and tail feathers fluffing out quite a bit.
Thank you for...
** Edited to add that there are some explicit bunny genitalia in comments. For help with sexing them.
Ok, we just recently decided to get into meat rabbits and we went ahead and bought 7. Two Adult Females, 2 adult males and was supposed to be 3 four month old girls. The 3 girls were...
So, I went out to feed and put away birds this evening and I noticed one of my turkeys was "coughing" upon closer look, it looks as though it's "cheeks" are swollen. I'm finding a sinus disease, (which they will forever carry) but will it spread to my other birds? Do I need to put it down, will...
A friend of mine is moving and needed to re-home a Peachick. I was told it was about 2 months old, so should be about 2 1/2 months old now. I am not sure the breed (or colors) or anything else about it. I'm going to guess it's a male, and I understand it's early and may not know for sure, but...
Is this my first turkey egg? My turkeys are only about 12 weeks old (bought them 12 weeks ago). Only other option is a first guinea fowl egg, but I've read those won't start laying until about a year old and those are only 15 weeks old.
So, we added 6 more ducks to our family!! I'm not quite sure what kind they are, I'm guessing either Khaki Campbell or possibly an Indian Runner? Sometimes they stand really tall, otherwise look normal? May be too soon to tell, just looking for guesses!
We purchased 6 Broad Breasted Bronze Turkey from Orschelns mid-May, is it too soon to tell if I have hens or Toms? I am 95% sure that one is a Tom, he is always puffing up and fanning his tail. The other 5, I'm not sure, all the information I'm reading online has me going back and forth. All of...
We have had chickens for several years, all of ours are free range. They do amazing eating bugs, but they also live my tomatoes in the garden 😒. The kids love watching the chickens in the window as they roam through the yard. They all roost back in the barn at the end of the night, we have about...
