Not real far south, but in the top of the southern third. Our black raspberries were planted by my MIL many years ago and spread. They can be found all over our place.
The one you called Dame’s Rocket is known as wild phlox in my neck of the woods. You can see them blooming g on the edges of just about every grove around here in early to mid June. Except my grove. For some reason they aren’t here.
My lilacs are barely leafed out. They are right outside my bedroom window, so when they’re blooming I open the windows wide and it smells so good in there!
Did you call and let him know it’s helping? Maybe you could get a prescription for that one sooner. (I really hate that health care is dictated by insurance companies.)
How does that work? Do you send your bees somewhere warm in the winter, or do you order fresh bees every year? How are they transported? What’s the lifespan of a bee? If you restock every spring, what do you do in the fall with the bees you have? I know - so many questions! But I (clearly) don’t...
Our vultures have been back for about a week or so. We haven’t alway had them here, but I don’t remember how long ago we first saw them here. At least 10 years or more.
I think it looks like a turkey vulture to me as well. The wingtips look “ragged”. The easiest way for me to tell the difference between them and an eagle is the wings. The vultures’ wings will look v shaped, and Eagles’ are more flat. The vultures also have white on the bottoms of their wings.
When did you have your hip surgery? I have had both of mine replaced (before I was 55). I am so thankful! Every day I give thanks for being able to walk and be pain free.
