Doing an experiment. found some quail eggs at my local fruit and veg shop from the same local seller as the fertilized eggs I saw for sale on Ebay. I'm not sure if they separate their breeders and layers or not but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

43 eggs into the bator. 4 had cracks when I candled them and one got dropped here.

8 of my quail have hatched so far. sadly one is rather small and had unabsorbed yolk which broke and I see intestines protruding so I'll cull that one. another got stuck trying to hatch from the wrong end but finally got out, and it's head is towards it's chest so will have to see how it's doing...
