    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

So an update about my malpositioned chick. I ended up having to fully assist him with hatching because his umbilical cord somehow got wrapped tightly around one of his legs making it immobile and slightly swollen. He was overdue to hatch so I carefuly clipped the cord and freed his leg. He was...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Okay so he is currently in the brooder now. Happy as can be. He is alone as the second guy next to him passed shortly after the pic was taken. He looked fairly cramped with unabsorbed veins and his stomach was not yet healed. I noticed he deficated in the egg so maybe it got infected. For the...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I took them into the bathroom with a hot shower going and started gently chipping away and one of them had all their veins and yolk absorbed and as soon as I opened it a little he popped out on his own before I could get the chance to put him back in the bator! He is very vigorous, no signs of...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Thank you. I'm aware about decreasing its chances but they are just not making progress. Their down is drying and they are just sitting there. I will peel back some of the membrane to see if it's only the air cell area that's dry.

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Alright guys. It's been well over 24 hours since two of my eggs pipped. I am thinking they are shrink wrapped because they have made absolutely no progress since the pips. Should I step in? I am not seeing veining in one of the eggs so far but the membrane seems to be dried out. One hasn't even...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Regardless I am not a breeder. These are simply pets. I will step in if I have to because I think it's better to try than let a possibly healthy chick die if it could be saved. I was just wondering the steps I should take to help so that I can reduce possible injury. Thank you for that video it...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Thank you so much for your help. I was not planning on assisting any hatches in a way that would keep it from hatching on its own per say. Just enough to encourage it. The increase in CO2 inside the egg causes the chick to resort to the air cell but without the air cell I wasn't sure how long it...

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Here's the third update! All are pipped but one is malpositioned!! I made a small pip hole for it to begin breathing but I'm not sure if I will have to assist. Any advice?? Also the bottom one has been pipped for 17 hours now. Should I be worried?

    ➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

UPDATE #2: Very small external pip and peeping out of the first egg! It's been a long waiting game so far. 2nd egg has now internally pipped, possibly made a hairline external pip but not sure yet. I'm guessing the 3rd will be on its way soon. All 3 are still rocking :pop

UPDATE: One has internally pipped! I hear tapping! The second one looks about ready to internally pip as well and the last one has a bit more developing to do :clap

First time hatcher! Set some coturnix and bobwhites in the incubator on the 11th and my 3 coturnix eggs are on lockdown! They are wiggling so I hope pipping starts soon. Temps have been all over the place so I hope for healthy babies :fl
