I was figuring it was a stock issue. I had one that got stuck under the feeder, but I know it was not there when I put the feeder in as the feeder was in the brooder before they hatched. Same with the water.
Not even sure. Bottled water. 25% protein feed. I did get these eggs off ebay so it could be the breeder or the shipping may have been harder than showed. Not sure they are not right when they hatch and I am down to 10 quail. Those 10 though are eating and drinking. The ones that died seemed to...
I do not cook in the microwave. It is for reheating, warming or melting things. I was never a fan of the microwave except for reheating leftovers at 2 am when I go home from work and everybody else in the house was sound asleep. I would also be the coffee maker fairy cause they always forgot to...
I think it may have been a problem on the breeder's end. Never have had so many critters hatch and just died soon after hatching. Next order will be from a different source to rule out anything I am doing.
I could tell which of the 6 children needed a diaper change by smell. I did not have to be in the room with them to know who needed to be changed. Was like hearing one cry while in another room and knowing who it was.
You could be like me and scent sensitive. I can smell better than most people I know. Some smells bother me more than others. Yes right before a hatch the incubator scent changes.
This is just my opinion and you can take it or leave it as you see fit. If the animal can eat, drink, move around and is not showing signs of pain I usually will let nature take its course. As long as you are not planning to breed them I would not worry about putting them down. I would wait and...
I have a chicken coop that is too small for most of my chickens. Says will hold up to 8 LF but even 4 LF were cranky. Can I use it for the quail or do they need to be off the ground completely?
