Just trying to get some more info out of you because you hadn't given any details and I could come up with a million reasons why they died without having any details....
I put mine outside last week and they were 2 weeks old. Lows were in the mid 60s and they did fine...
Okay so 2 out of 3 died. Hmmm. How long have they been outside? What was the lowest temp outside? No blood on any of them? Were they huddled together where they died? Any signs of a predator attack, digging around the walls, feathers everywhere, etc.? Need more info....
I wouldn't recommend giving day old chicks anything other than a starter crumble for food but that's just my opinion. I doubt the cucumber has anything to do with it.
Check his butt and make sure poop is not stuck to it. Adding some electrolytes to his water wouldn't hurt but there's a fair...
It's a feather sexable mix fron myshire. It's lighter and more grey than a wild/Pharoah and it has the white wing tips. I got some jumbo wilds from them a couple months ago and 1 of them had the white wing tips also....
I used to incubate at 50 but I always had 1 or 2 curled toe or splayed leg chicks. I didn't check the air cells back then. This last time I incubated at 38% and the air cells still looked a tad bit small but I had zero curled toe or splayed leg chicks. I'm going to try 30% next time..... I still...
Everyone probably does things a little bit different but if I set eggs in the afternoon of 3/19 then for me, day 1 is 3/20. Which means lock down is 4/2 (anytime on 4/2). That's just how I do it.... You don't need to be super precise though. Sometimes they hatch half a day or even a full day...
