I knew I'd been putting in a fair amount of work this spring, but I didn't realize quite how much until I compared my winter video of the MerriQuail greenhouse with today's video!
I took the eggs in with me. The only reason it had access was because I had just collected them and was finishing the last of my chores before taking them in.
I only leave the door open when I am inside working. Leaving the door open if I'm not physically present is too dangerous with the number of loose dogs in my area.
I had a super cheeky blue jay this morning. I was taking care of the birds and garden this morning when this jay flew into the greenhouse through the door. I went to chase it out because I didn't want it trapped inside, but instead of flying out, it flew straight to the basket of eggs that I'd...
I had one of those for rats back at my old place for use indoors. They're really expensive if you have an infestation like I have in the greenhouse. If you only need one, they're expensive but doable. I bought 10 traps for about $8.

Now it's spring, my...
Pretty much. It also sounds like because the burrows are on either side of the railroad tracks I'm not likely to get any response from the railroad company that owns the tracks.
To keep completely legal, I need to trap them on my own land and dispatch them here. Firing a gun inside city...
Maybe I can get my tenant to help with that. I don't have a clue on how to do fencing, but my tenant put in the fencing for the chickens, and he did put chicken wire down into the ground to make sure dogs wouldn't dig under. I hope it deters the ground chucks too.
They're close to my property, but not ON my property. There's one on each side of the railroad track within 100' of my property. I guess I should contact the city first.
I haven't seen any hares or rabbits up here. That doesn't mean that they don't exist, but I haven't seen any.
The front door of the greenhouse has a gap underneath and I had the side that isn't covered in hardware cloth yet rolled up about 4" because it's been getting hot in there. I guess I...
